Overview
The FuseBox RTA1001002S is Type A 100A 100mA Time Delayed Double Pole RCD (residual-current device).
Suitable for use in FuseBox consumer units.
In normal circumstances, the job of an RCD is to shut down the power supply as quickly as possible when a fault occurs, thus protecting against electric shock.
Type S RCDs on the other hand are designed to operate more slowly to minimise nuisance tripping.
The primary function of time-delayed RCD is to provide protection against electrical fire. They are most commonly used in commercial and industrial installations where the main concern isnt electric shock but rather the risk of fire.
It is important to note that time-delayed RCDs are not suitable for domestic use.
